Comparing the Inspiratory Capacity Measurements Obtained by Incentive Spirometry and Ultrasonic Spirography in the Early Postoperative Period in Cardiac Surgery Patients

چکیده
Incentive spirometry is one of the most common methods used for respiratory rehabilitation in early period after cardiac surgery. Inspiratory capacity values, obtained by a patient using spirometer, are not reliably trusted. Objectives. To compare volumetric parameters measured with incentive spirometer and results bedside ultrasound-based to assure feasibility use assess inspiratory e?ectiveness postoperative rehabilitation. Materials methods. The study included 50 patients elective Pulmonary involved various therapy Spirography was performed before each session. Both approaches were simultaneously obtain maximum (SMIC) ultrasonic spirography (MIC) index an spirometer. Patient’s discomfort adverse events during procedures recorded. Results. absolute values MIC session two dissimilar, however, average increment (6) did show statistically significant differences. correlation analysis revealed strong positive relationship between 6 SMIC ( R = 0.74 session, 0.79 0.77 across whole data set, P < 0.01), also consistent Bland–Altman analysis, evidencing that more than 95% all fell within ± 1.96 SD mean difference. method showed good diagnostic accuracy (sensitivity 87%, specificity 85%, area under curve (AUC) 0.8 (95% CI: [0.76; 0.83]), 0.001). Refusals procedure often documented spirography. Conclusion. shows agreement measurements. Therefore, can be effectiveness interventions surgery period.

Comparing the Effect of Resistive Inspiratory Muscle Training and Incentive Spirometry on Respiratory Pattern of COPD patients
Background: Resistive Inspiratory Muscle Training (RIMT) is a well-known technique for rehabilitation of patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Incentive spirometry is another technique with potential viability for this application, but there is limited evidence in support of its efficacy in the rehabilitation of COPD patients. Aim: The objective of this study was to compar...

Background: Respiratory complications are the main causes of increased morbidity and mortality in individuals who undergo upper abdominal surgery. The effi cacy of physical therapy procedures needs clarifi cation, and it is necessary to know which therapeutic approaches are the best ones to implement. Objective: To compare the inspiratory volume during the breath stacking maneuver with the volu...

Cardiac resynchronization therapy is not commonly used in the early postoperative period in patients undergoing cardiac surgery who have left ventricular (LV) dysfunction and a history of heart failure. We performed a prospective randomized clinical trial to compare atrial synchronous right ventricular (DDD RV) and biventricular (DDD BIV) pacing within 72 hours after cardiac surgery in patients...
متن کاملPostoperative incentive spirometry use.
The authors hypothesized that the use of incentive spirometry by orthopedic patients is less than the recommended level and is affected by patient-related factors and type of surgery. To determine its postoperative use, the authors prospectively surveyed all patients in their institution's general orthopedic ward who had undergone elective spine surgery or total knee or hip arthroplasty during ...
